Do you offer any alternative procedures?
Weight loss may help to reduce the size of your breasts, and exercise can decrease the amount of fat in the breast tissue.
What else do I need to know?
- You may experience moderate discomfort during the initial week of recovery.
- You might have some scarring.
- You should discuss the possibility of breastfeeding prior to surgery.
- You may experience a temporary decrease or loss of sensation in your nipples.
Are there any risks associated with this procedure?
Swelling, scarring, and bruising are the most common side effects of breast reduction. The procedure also carries the risk of a reaction to anesthesia, hematoma, and infection, like other surgical procedures. You may need revision surgery if there is a variation in the size and shape of your breasts. You may also experience decreased nipple sensation for up to a year.
